History in Berlin, Fjords in Norway
Hello fans. We hope that everyone is doing well. We got back to Sweden yesterday and we are loving it. The past eleven and a half weeks have been great, but it will be nice to stay put for a while. By now we have figured out have we like to travel,which I believe is the main reason we have enjoyed this second leg of the trip even more then the first leg. We have had a good mix of large cities, small towns, hiking and city sightseeing.
After we left Krakow, we spent a few days in Berlin. We really enjoyed this city a lot. It has a lot of historical buildings and monuments related to World War II and the split of the country between east and west as well as a massive shopping area. There are so many things that seem to affect the perception of each place such as weather, accommodation, cost and if you take a tour, the guide. In Berlin we had a great tour guide even though at first we thought we had ended up in a horror movie (see photo below). The guy had multiple facial piercings, the back of his head was coloured green, and he was wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles jacket that he had traded for payment at a tattoo parlour where he worked previously. Remember folks, never judge a book by its cover. This was by far the best tour guide we have had - very knowledgeable and funny.
Next, we caught a flight to Norway to the beautiful city of Bergen, where it only rains on average 300-330 days a year. The first day there was beautiful. The second day was the most miserable day of our travels so far. It was cold and rained/snowed so we spent most of the day on the internet and watching TV. Luckily the internet was 'free' in the hotel.
If you go to Norway, you must see the fjords as they are beautiful. The trip from Bergen to Oslo via train, bus, boat, and train again is amazing. However, Norway is by far the most expensive country we have visited, especially Oslo where the hostel we stayed at was crap considering what we paid. We did like Oslo as a city though and did a lot of walking around, including visiting Holmenkollen. Holmenkollen is a place every Norwegian treasures since cross country events take place here and they are usually very good at it, unfortunately often better then the Swedes :(.
We will be in Sweden for two weeks before we get on the road again. We look forward to spending time with family, seeing some friends and eating lots of meatballs.

Yeah for being back in DA Country! Seems like you are going to have to keep travelling FOR ALWAYS, since I have gotten accustome (sp?) to read your blog. You can tell you are loving the travelling more and more as well are you seem to love doing the blog as well! See you tomorrow :)
